Qlik Sense Desktop released

Qlik today announced the release of Qlik Sense Desktop, a completely free application that delivers a simple drag-and-drop interface for business users to rapidly create interactive visualisations, reports, and dashboards. Qlik Sense is the first release from the QlikView.Next project and couples the powerful data manipulation and indexing engine from QlikView with a drag-and-drop based interface to place the power of Qlik in the hands of end-users. Qlik Sense Desktop is free for personal and business use, with no limits on the number of applications that can be created and no restrictions on file sharing.

It is expected that the Qlik Sense Server offering will be generally available some time in September 2014 and will enable server side development from any device, flexible mobile use, collaboration and sharing, custom development and data integration. It will also have key enterprise capabilities, data security, and data and application governance.

Qlik Sense Desktop is a great way to show people who are new to Qlik the power and control you can feel by exploring your own data to make it meaningful, visual, and even fun. Our continued commitment to simplicity and ease of use to put users in control is delivering on the promise of true self-service BI
Anthony Deighton, Qlik CTO and Senior Vice President of Products

Existing QlikView customers can be assured that Qlik are committed to the future of QlikView along side Qlik Sense with a new version of QlikView expected to be released in 2015.
